Annual General Meeting

Under the terms of the Griffith LSA Constitution and the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), Griffith LSA is required to hold an annual general meeting once per year. The AGM is an important part of the functioning of the LSA.

Nominations open September 8, 2025 and close 15 October 2025.

The following things happen at the AGM:

Management committee Annual Reports

Each Vice President reports on the performance of their portfolio throughout the year, and makes recommendations for future improvements. Members have the opportunity to ask questions about the content of the reports.

Procedural requirements

The Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) requires the LSA to give written notice of its AGM to all members.

To be eligible to nominate, you must be a current academic member of the GLSA for the 2025 year. Join here.

To be eligible to vote and nominate from the floor on the night of the AGM, you must be a current academic member of the GLSA for the 2025 year. Join here.

voting

Voting will take place only in the meeting. When the election is called, ballot papers will be virtually distributed to all eligible voters. Voting will then occur through secret ballot, with the results handed to the Returning Officer at the conclusion of the business item.
